Food technology experts at Reaseheath College in Cheshire ‘accidentally’ discovered that rubbing the crumbly cheese onto the face caused softening, moisturising effects to the skin.

Cheshire Cheese, known for centuries as ‘the poor man’s meat’, could be about to win worldwide recognition- as a beauty product.

Milk has already been used across the beauty market as it produces lactic acid, a gentle exfoliant, and is a good source of vitamins A and D, which nourish the complexion. It’s widely believed that Cleopatra even used to bathe in it. But cheese is reportedly the new magic ingredient with the Cheshire Cheese Face Pack ticking all the boxes needed to rejuvenate tired, dry skin.

Caution: Always test homemade facial masks on the inside of your wrist first before applying to the face. Avoid the eye area and do not use on broken/irritated skin. Avoid friends as you will stink of cheese. Any excess face mask can be applied to crackers and eaten as a delicious savoury snack afterwards.

How to make the face pack:
-100g Cheshire Cheese
-100ml double cream
-Blend with hand held high mixer and mix into soft paste
-Apply to face
-Leave for about 15 minutes
-Wash face with soft soap and water
-Pat dry with towel.
-Go and sit in a darkened room and think about what you’ve just done.
