Liverpool's Top Ten Travel Destinations Revealed

THE most popular destination from Liverpool John Lennon Airport is... Belfast, we can reveal.

Liverpool provides possibly the shortest trip across the Irish Sea to the city possible. However, the Dutch city of Amsterdam received more passengers from Liverpool than Dublin.

The entire top ten is made up of destinations in Europe, due to the fact the airport services far fewer long haul flights than other airports. Short-haul flights with discount airliners, such as RyanAir and Easy Jet are therefore more popular.

Below are the top 10 destinations, most popular first, measured in terms of total numbers of passengers who have travelled to and from the destinations this year so far (1 January – 22 August 2011).

  1. Belfast
  2. Amsterdam
  3. Dublin
  4. Alicante
  5. Malaga
  6. Faro
  7. Palma
  8. Barcelona
  9. Isle of Mann
  10. Geneva
