LADY GAGA’S meat dress surely has to be the inspiration behind this fleshy fashion design. Created by designer James Lillis for Black Milk Clothing in Australia, the leggings feature an anatomical diagram of the leg muscles and they’re on sale online here for $75 AUD (£52).
Lillis said: “This is an idea that we have been thinking about for a while. A few people encouraged me to do it but I never quite got around to it. Then I got a spare afternoon one day and decoded to have a good go at making it work. It worked, perhaps a little too well. Definitely our most 'meaty' design.”
The leggings are no surprise from Lillis who is an old pro when it comes to portraying a message through clothing. His often controversial T-shirt designs can be found on redbubble.com.
But back to the muscle leggings – they’ll most certainly add to the array of themed leggings on the market, from jeggings, to PVC, sequinned and tribal patterns. Look around. It’s an elastane minefield out there.
With leggings still over stretching their '80s comeback, we’re expecting even more variations on the staple, stretchy stand-ins for proper pants.
Fashioning flesh though? It’s perhaps still a tad early for Halloween...
