CHESHIRE Oaks Designer Outlet launched the festive season in style as 10,000 people joined three generations of X Factor contestants (and two winners) to switch on the Christmas lights and welcome Christmas to the North West of England.

Alexandra Burke was joined by The Risk, fellow contestant Sophie Habibis and the 2009 X Factor winner, Joe McElderry. Up-and-coming boyband Eli Prime, and Liverpool singer Chelcee, also helped in lighting Britain’s biggest Christmas tree.
At over 90 feet tall, the tree is home to 80,000 baubles and 100,000 lights.

Mark Schofield, deputy centre manager at McArthurGlen Cheshire Oaks said: “Not only are we the biggest designer outlet in the UK, we’re also home to the country’s biggest Christmas tree and lighting it is always a very proud moment at Cheshire Oaks. The spectacular event always sets the festive season off with a bang.”
As well as chart-topping performances, visitors to this year’s tree lighting were treated to exclusive promotions, money-can’t-buy prizes and a fireworks extravaganza.
Britian's biggest Christmas tree
McArthurGlen Cheshire Oaks is home to over 145 designer and high street brands including Mulberry, Armani, LK Bennett and Superdry, all at up to 60 per cent less all year round, making it the ideal destination to pick up gifts for all the family.
