FOOD-loving members of the public can nominate their favourite restaurants, pubs and cafés from across the North West for The Good Food Guide Readers’ Restaurant of the Year awards as of Monday 13 February 2012.
"We really look forward to diners in the North West getting behind their local restaurants and telling us about the places where they really love to eat in the region."
The awards champion local eateries and recognise great food and good service from across the UK, with the criteria that restaurants must be independently run and offer regional or local produce where possible.
Ten regional winners will be announced from the public nominations before The Good Food Guide judges crown their overall Readers’ Restaurant of the Year 2013.
Diners in the North West can nominate their favourite restaurants online here or by sending in a postcard, available in restaurants from 13 February until 23 April 2012. Everyone who submits a nomination will be automatically entered into a free prize draw for a meal for two
Last year’s awards saw more than 27,500 members of the public nominating their favourite restaurants, with Liverpool's Spire winning the crown of The Good Food Guide Readers’ Restaurant of the Year for the North West.
Spire Chef Owner Matt Locke said of winning last year's award: "Hearing the news that we had won was an extremely proud moment - to be singled out by your customers in this way is a very special feeling and one we will cherish."
Elizabeth Carter, Consultant Editor, The Good Food Guide, says: "The Good Food Guide Readers’ Restaurant of the Year awards are a fantastic way to support local businesses in recognising great cooking and service at neighbourhood eateries across the UK. We really look forward to diners in the North West getting behind their local restaurants and telling us about the places where they really love to eat in the region."
The ten regional winners will be announced at the end of May and the overall winner of The Good Food Guide Readers’ Restaurant of the Year award will be announced in late June.

At least it isn't a "joke" awards like the Hi Life ones last week.
Ok you seem to always have an opinion on everything, name your top three restaurants in the northwest...
Hmm tough one that....personal faves at the moment are damson, aladdin in withington and glamorous for dim sum. Can't see the last 2 getting any awards although they have been serving consistently excellent food for years. Soft spot for red chilli as well.
POLLOLOCO You need to get out more
Is it because I haven't mentioned more "with it" places for you sadsack?
