The easy way to get to Chester Racecourse

Chester Racecourse is renowned for being a glamorous venue where style and fashion go hand in hand with the racing action. Racing begins with the three day May Festival, on Wednesday 4th May, putting Chester in the racing spotlight nationally. After May there are another 11 days / evenings of racing throughout the summer months – each has its own unique identity, ensuring wide ranging appeal.

Situated close to the heart of historic Chester, flanked by the River Dee and overlooked by the medieval city walls, Chester racecourse is the perfect place to while away a summer’s day.

From Liverpool, the Merseyrail train journey takes just 45 minutes with services running four times an hour. It’s just as convenient from Manchester with regular trains taking just over an hour to transport you to Chester station.

Once you arrive at Chester station you can simply hop onto a free shuttle bus to the racecourse. The shuttle buses run from two hours before the first race, until racing starts; ideal for those wanting to save their feet for the day ahead!

If you decide to drive, the course is well signposted, and there is plenty of parking available on site, for as little as £7 for the whole day.

Tickets start from £7 and children aged 16 and under are free of charge.
