THIS weekend, 19 and 20 November, EventCity at The Trafford Centre will host the fast and furious 2011 Power Snooker Masters Trophy. Sixteen of the world's top players will battle it out in quickfire, knockout rounds – in what's been called snooker's version of Twenty20 cricket.

Each game will last no more than 30 minutes, the shot-clock will keep the pace racing, and the audience may feel like they're in more of a darts environment than at a snooker event.

Live music from the Power Snooker band will keep the crowd entertained in between games, and the sexy Power Girls will be walking the players out onto the main stage in the arena. The whole gig will be shown live on ITV4 over the weekend.

Power33Organiser Rod Gunner explains what Power Snooker is all about: "Power Snooker is like nothing you've seen before. There's still the skill of snooker, but at a much faster pace, which makes it more interesting for your everyday sports fan.”

Rod adds: "People will have the choice of watching the action live in the main arena, or if they'd just like a day and night out with their mates enjoying the atmosphere, they can buy tickets for the Fanzone where they can watch the action on the big screens, have a few drinks and food, watch the players practising and do a bit of celeb spotting."

Endorsed by World Snooker, the tournament will feature top players including Ronnie O’Sullivan, Judd Trump and John Higgins.

If you'd like to see them compete in this exhilarating new take on traditional snooker, get yourself a last-minute ticket. Prices start from just £11.

The 2011 Power Snooker Masters Trophy is at EventCity at The Trafford Centre this weekend (Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 November). Doors open 11.30am.
